Breaking Battle
2027 Competition
Layout preview — article text and images are placeholders.
Two different ways to be part of the battle. Pick yours.
Compete
For b-boys and b-girls who want to step onto the floor in 2027.
-
Know the battle
B-Boy Juice, the dance battle coordinator, chooses the format, picks the judges, host and DJ, sets the prize money, and organizes the breaking portion of Beats & Bars.
-
Rules & format
2027 format, rounds, judging criteria, categories and prizes aren’t set (RI-005).
The 2027 format and rules will be announced.
-
Register to compete
Sign-up method, entry fee, competitor cap and deadline aren’t set. Historically competitors paid about $20; that is history, not 2027 pricing (RI-005).
Competitor sign-up details will be announced.
-
Admission & battle day
Whether competitor entry includes event admission, which day and time the battle runs, check-in and what competitors receive (wristband, food) are open (RI-006, RI-008, RI-024).
Battle-day details will be announced.
Watch & support
For anyone coming mainly to see the battle and back the breakers: family, crews, fans, the curious.
-
What you’ll see
For someone who knows the dance, a battle offers details to study and styles to recognize. For someone discovering it, that same floor can be an invitation to pay closer attention.
-
How to get in
PENDING — not decided. Historically spectators paid about $25 and got the same treatment as general admission; Kim doesn’t think that model works going forward. Open: is a spectator entry a ticket, a registration, an add-on or a separate product? How does it relate to the Saturday and 3-day passes? Is there a separate wristband/access class? (RI-004, RI-006)
Spectator access details will be announced.
-
Food & extras
PENDING — whether spectator access includes food or other event privileges, or whether those are purchased separately (RI-008).
Details will be announced.
-
Battle day
Day, time, viewing area and venue access for spectators aren’t set (RI-024, RI-025).
Day, time and viewing details will be announced.
