Beat Freaq is a platform started and hosted by producer and DJ Jah Freedom. It is centered on producers, with room for poets, rappers and MCs. In Jah’s words, it is built on “the synergy between the artist and the producer.”

The music is only half of it. Beat Freaq’s community work has included yearly food drives, mentoring young artists, and free workshops on getting paid, publishing and the business side of music. Its Beat Freaq Generals are producers recognized as much for showing up for the community as for their beats.
