If you joined us at Beats & Bars Barbecue in 2026, you may remember the pink tent belonging to Let Them Eat Cupcakes. Behind that business is Tara Edwards—and her experience speaks to the kind of relationship we want to build with the people who vend at 4BQ.

Bringing your business to an event takes preparation, money, time, and belief in what you have to offer. Before the first customer arrives, you’ve already invested something.

We believe that effort deserves care from the people inviting you.

For Tara, that care was felt from the moment she got there.

A Little Attention Can Mean a Lot

When you’re hosting a gathering, you have an opportunity to introduce people to one another. That includes introducing the family to the businesses that came to be part of the day.

Tara described how that happened for Let Them Eat Cupcakes.

“To ensure my success at the event Kim was instrumental in promoting my business to all attendees.”

That personal interest mattered to her.

“The amount of interest that was generated and displayed by Kim and his wife (QP) was absolutely phenomenal and more than anything that I could have imagined.”

There was also an impromptu commercial for social media—a chance for Tara to present her business with some humor, warmth, and her own personality.

An introduction like that gives people a person to connect with. They get to meet the owner, hear about what she brings, and have another reason to stop by her tent.

That is part of the value of gathering this way. We have room to pay attention to one another.

Growing Together in 2027

As we prepare for our fifth year, we want our vendors to share in the opportunity we’re building.

That starts with communication before the event: learning what you offer, discussing your setup, and helping you arrive prepared. It continues with attention on the day itself—helping you find your place, making introductions, and being available when questions come up.

We want you to feel that the organizers care about how the day goes for you. Your business is part of the experience our guests come to enjoy, and the relationship deserves that level of consideration.

“Culture Over Commercialism” has a practical place here, too. Supporting the culture includes making room for the people building businesses within it. People putting their skill, creativity, and resources into something of their own.

When you bring that effort to 4BQ, we want to help people discover it.

A Relationship Worth Returning For

We asked Tara whether she planned to come back.

“And without hesitation I definitely plan to attend The Beats and Bars Barbecue in 2027.”

That means something to us. An invitation to return carries more weight when someone has already experienced how you welcome them.

Tara, thank you for bringing Let Them Eat Cupcakes into the 4BQ family—and for sharing what the experience meant to you.
